జలే శైత్యాదికం యద్వజ్జల భానుంన సంస్పృ శేత్ l

బుద్ధేః కామాదికం తద్వ చ్చిదాభాసం ణ సంస్పృశేత్ ll - జగద్గురు శంకరాచార్య

తటాకములోని జలములోగల సూర్యబింబమునకు, అజలముయోక్క గుణములుగానీ,జలచరములుగానీ 

ఏవిధముగా అంటవో  అదే విధముగా బుద్ధి యొక్క గుణములు ఆత్మనంటవు.

जले शैत्यादिकं यद्व ज्जल भानुं न संस्पृशेत  l

बुद्धेः कामादिकम तद्व च्चिदाभासं सा संस्पृशेत  ll - जगद्गुरु शंकराचार्य

सूरज का छाया जो तालाब में पड़ता है उसे उस तालाब के कोई भी गुण नहीं छूसकता। उसी तरह 

बुध्दी की मनमानी आत्मा को कुछ नहीं करसकता।

The sun on the sky reflects in the water of, say, a lake. The qualities of the water in the lake cannot 

attribute to the sun. He is their but remains untouched and unswayed. As told earlier ATMA is the 

reflection of PARAMAATMA. In the same way the qualities of our mind cannot influence the SOUL.
