ఆంగ్లమయినపుడు 'తెలుగు దేశం' కూడా పేరు
మార్చుకొని ' ఆంగ్లదేశం ' అంటే 'ENGLISH
COUNTRY' గా మార్చుకొంటే
చాలా సమంజసముగా ఉంటుందేమో!' అన్న మాటకు
శ్రీయుతులు చింతలపల్లె కాశీపతి
శర్మగారు తమ అభిప్రాయమును ప్రకటించుట
జరిగినది. ఎంతో ఓపికతో వారు వ్రాసినందుకు మనసా నమస్సులు.

అంటారు. ఆలోచించి వ్రాసే వారు ఎప్పటికీ సమాజ శ్రేయస్సు దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకొనే

Pre KG,L KG, U KG లకు బదులు ఇంట్లోనే తెలుగు సంస్కృతము
అందునా ముఖ్యంగా అమరము నేర్పించితే ఆ తరువాత ఆంగ్లమైనా నల్లేరు పై నడకే.
మా కాలములో అమరము చదవని వానికి నేనమరను
అని సరస్వతీ దేవి చెప్పిందని చెప్పి పెద్దలు నేర్పించేవారు.
అంత ఓర్పు నేటి తలిదండ్రులకున్నదా !
అసలు పెద్ద చదువులలో కూడా Scientific Terms ఆంగ్లము
నుండి యధాతథముగా తీసుకొని తెలుగులో Science, maths నేర్చుకోకూడదా!
.'కృషితో నాస్తి దుర్భిక్షం
జపతోనాస్తి పాతకం
మౌనేన కలహం నాస్తి
నాస్తి జాగరతో భయం' అన్నది నీతి శాస్త్రము.
ఇక విజ్ఞానమన్నది ప్రవాహము.పొలానికి వాడుకొంటే
ఫలితం ఎక్కువగా వుంటుంది. ఉన్నదే సర్వస్వమనుకొంటే
అది అట్లే ఉండిపోతుంది.
ఒక చిన్న చాటుపద్యాన్ని ఇక్కడ ఉటంకించుతాను :
ఏనాటి అగ్రహారమొ
మానాటికి మాన్యమాయె మా పని దీరన్
మీనాటి కండ్రిగాయెను
నానాటికి తీసికట్టు నాగంభొట్టూ
ఇది నేటి మన పరిస్థితి. యువత ఒక సముద్రము. అందు లేనిదుండదు.
ఆలస్యమంతా వెలికి తీయడములోనే !
నా అభిప్రాయము తెలుపుటలో నేనేదైనా పొరబాటు చేసియుంటే మీ
సంస్కారము తప్పుగా భావింప జేయనీయదని తలుస్తాను.

మంత్రపుష్పం ఈ విధంగా చెబుతుంది
'పద్మకోశః ప్రదీకాశగుమ్
హృదయంచాప్యధో ముఖం
ఆదౌ నిష్ట్యా వితశ్శాంతి నాభ్యాం
ఉపరితిష్ఠతి జ్వాలమాలాకులం భాతి ........
తస్య మధ్యే వహ్ని శిఖా అనియో ఓర్ధ్వా వ్యవస్థితః.......
తస్యా శిఖాయా మధ్యే పరమా ఆత్మా వ్యవస్థితః'
ఈ మంత్రమునకు పెద్దలవద్ద నేను తెలుసుకొన్న
అర్థమేమిటంటే ....
మన శరీరములో నాభి కి జానెడు పైన, కంఠము
క్రింది, ముచ్చెన
గుంత నుండి జానెడు క్రింద ఎడమవైపు తలక్రిందులుగా వున్న
తామరమొగ్గ రూపములో హృదయముంటే దానికి దగ్గరగాఒక వడ్లగింజకు
(నీవార ధాన్యమును నేను చూడలేదు అందువల్ల వడ్లగింజ అన్నాను.) పైనగాలముల్లు
ప్రమాణములొ వెలుగు నీలపు జ్యోతి శిఖలో పరమాత్ముడున్నాడు.
ఆశిఖను ఆంగ్లములో Sinus Node అని అంటారని
విన్నాను.
ఇంతటి గొప్పవిషయములు కూడా కోతలు పెట్టకుండానే మన పూర్వీకులు
చెప్పినారు అనునది ఒకటైతే,ఆ జగన్నాయకుడు మనలోనే ఉన్నాడని
మన ద్రష్టలు చెప్పినారు అన్నది రెండవ విషయము.
ఈ విషయము తరువాత మనకు ఉపయోగ పడుతుంది.

1. Every country teaches it's children & educates in
their own language !
Because it is a natural instinct to think, assimilate & express
better in one's own language, for aquiring better skills & communication !
2. Alas, it was the evil motto of the British colonial
rulers to enslave us, by not properly getting us educated, keeping majority of
people aloof from education & continue to be illiterates for centuries !
3. Inagine, had mother tongue been our medium of instruction
after attaining independence, by now illiteracy in India would have vanished.
More & more scientists & scholars & original thinkers would have
emerged ! It is due to English medium only a few were educated, majority are
good for nothing either in English or mother tongue, sofar as communication
& literary skills are concerned ! It is confined only to a few elite
class/castes !
4.One more damage done was, we were alienated from our
culture, traditions, Vedas, Upanishads, Epics & various literary &
socio, economic & scientific ancient scriptures, for not able to read &
understand ! Either they were confined to museums or destroyed !
5. In the process, the mother of all languages, Sanskrit
became a dead language & died a natural death, as English replaced Sanskrit
as lingua franca, becoming medium of common communication & administration
among all linguistic states !
6. Had Sanskrit been allowed to be popularised, in place of
Enhlish, imagine, how far we would have traveled & achieved in scientific
& technological advancements, as most of our ancient Sanskrit scriptures
are the mines & embodiments of treasures of scientific knowledge, since
thousands of years !
7. But this enormous valuable literature was stolen by
westerners, who got benefited & now developed, discovered & invented
various present science & technology, using our ancient literature as a
spring board!
8. One more reason for denying our education in mother
tongue is to easily popularize their Christian religion, & encourage
conversions, by distancing us from our literature, culture, traditions &
praying & worshipping practices, which are available in our vernacular
languages & Sanskrit literature!
9. Once denied our language, compelled to learn English, we
became closure to their teachings, literature, religion, customs &
traditions & practices, including our dress code & manners ! So now we
are neither fully Indian nor western,! Such is the damage, if we ignore our
mother tongue, the root cause for growth & development of any country &
its people!

We should never neglect English. Chinese, Japanese are poor in
English. This is their disadvantage. For example, Indians could go to very high
positions in Google, Yahoo, Microsoft etc., They could become even senate
members in USA. Many Indians are in top positions. All this happened because of
their knowledge of English. I am not for discouraging the mother tongue. Mother
tongue is to be learnt. World is becoming more and more competitive. Telugu is
my mother tongue and I respect it to the maximum. But, we should not develop
hatred towards English. It is a beautiful language. Yes it was thrust on us.
Somehow it happened. Forget it. There is no point in again
again talking about it. We have our own cultural greatness etc. But with all that, to progress in this
materialistic world, English is a must. Situation is that way, we cannot ignore
it, or avoid it. Intelligent way is utilize that language which was thrust on
us and convert it to our advantage. Already we are at least lagging by a
century in Technology. World is progressing fast, we have to catch up the race.
At the same time, do not forget our cultural heritage. Only knowledge of
Sanskrit can revive it to its earlier glory. So learn Sanskrit. Since it will
become too much of a burden on young children, I am suggesting third place to
Telugu. People are talking about Amaram. Amaram is Sanskrit. Most of the Telugu
language, for that matter, most of the Indian languages have come from
Sanskrit. All the great books like Mahabharata, Bhagavata are only translations
from Sanskrit. So, once Sanskrit is learnt learning Telugu becomes easy. Please
do not over stress young children with our 'fanatisism'
for Telugu.

1. The reason for success in science &; technology by
the Eropeans, Japan, Chjna, Korea, ruling the world, with their advancements,
having won several Noble prizes for discoveries &, inventions is their
education in their mother tongue only !
2. They learn English, only if necessary, for communication
& overseas employment! This is a proven fact! Of course now it is too late
for us to switch back, as our present linguistic infrastructure is very poor,
ignored & undeveloped due to colonial legacy ! But never late than never!
3. If you observe the high percentage of success rate of
North Indians in various civil service &, other academic pursuit exams,
opting to write in their mother tongue, Hindi, it is clearly evident the importance
of education in mother tongue !
4. Let us not extinguish our mother tongue based education,
in whichb the treasures of our culture, heritage & traditions, are
preserved, as they are inseparable! Let the choice of medium of instruction be
given to the students, not impose nor discourage!
5. The great linguistic scholar, Sir C P Brown himself was
mesmerized with the beaty of our Telugu language, toiled to learn, mastered,
researched & gave us treasures of several Telugu literary works, grammar,
which are even now widely acclaimed, which even our Telugu scholars failed to
accomplish !
6. It is the responsibility of every Telugaite, to preserve
& research, our literary treasures embedded in ancient scriptures on
leaves, stones, libraries & museums, lest, Telugu will be extinct in a few
decades !
7. Government also should, by compulsion implement our
mother tongue in all departments of administration, to come closure to the
people, to enlighten & make them aware of their rights &
responsibilities, including judiciary ! Simultaneously, English can be restricted
to higher studies, interstate, international communication as is being done
& implemented by Europeans, China, Japan, Korea etc.,

You r right sir. We should not neglect our mother tongue and at the
same time English shall be encouraged because of its international recognition.
Sanskrit will greatly help to understand most of our Indian languages, since
it's origin is Sanskrit.

గ్రహించవచ్చును.బాల్యములో పిల్లలకు ఆ ఒక్కటి నేర్పితే అక్షరములు స్పుటముగా
పలుకుటకు,
ఏ భాషనైనా నేర్చుకొనుటకు లేక తెలుసుకొనుటకు ఎంతో ఉపయుక్తము.
